excerpt [A study this month indicated that soot from industry,
cars, farming and wood fuel burning has been responsible for
half the total temperature increases in the Arctic between 1890 to
2007. Temperatures there are rising twice as fast as anywhere else
on the planet, making it the region worst affected by climate
change.] Read the entire article at RAWSEP - Residents Against Wood Smoke Emission Particles Getting Ready For Winter - cut trees to burn. How good can blue smoke be for your lungs? How good can ANY smoke be?
Trees are meant to stand tall and provide us with OXYGEN -- not -- to choke us with Black Carbon & toxic chemicals. The burning of wood cannot be used as a primary source for home heating and hot water. This is half the problem. Too many people are now using wood as primary fuel. This creates carbon dioxide and black carbon that blankets communities with soot. It's bad for our health and that of our planet. Fight for your right to breathe clean air. |
